ScreenHop Privacy Policy
In one line: ScreenHop collects nothing. No network requests, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, no accounts. Every setting stays on your Mac and is erased the moment you uninstall.
What we collect
Nothing. ScreenHop does not collect or transmit your name, email, file contents, browsing history, location, device identifiers, crash logs, or any other personally identifying information.
Tracking
ScreenHop does not track you, uses no tracking technologies, and shares nothing with advertising or analytics networks. The app contains no tracking domains.
Third-party SDKs
The app ships without any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Your hotkey combination | The keys you pressed, so the app can listen for them |
| Border colour | The colour you picked, used for the flash border |
| Interface language | The language you picked for the interface |
| Launch at login | Only ever on if you switch it on yourself |
Permissions the app asks for
ScreenHop asks for no Accessibility, Screen Recording, camera, microphone, or network permission. Its only capability is the standard app sandbox every Mac App Store app has. It can do that because both key operations use built-in system APIs that need no user authorisation: global hotkeys via Carbon's RegisterEventHotKey, and moving the pointer via the system event API. Neither requires Accessibility access, so there is no “enable it in System Settings” prompt. The desktop wallpaper thumbnails in the picker are read from your own Mac's wallpaper file, shrunk for display, drawn on screen, and never uploaded or kept.
Launch at login
Off by default. The app registers itself with the system's login-item mechanism (SMAppService) only if you switch it on in Settings, and unregisters as soon as you switch it off.
Children's privacy
Because ScreenHop collects no data at all, it neither collects nor knowingly has any knowledge of children's personal information. The app is not directed at children and has no age gate.
Deleting your data
Remove ScreenHop from System Settings → General → Login Items, or drag it to the Trash from Applications. Everything in its sandbox — shortcuts, colour, language, toggles — goes with it. No copies are left anywhere else.
